I had the pleasure of Gab for a company workshop. She is a very enthusiastic facilitator, speaks with great passion and had the whole room engaged throughout the day. She managed to simplify complex theories with easy to follow practices. At the end of the day walking out the room felt refreshed, armed with tips and tricks to run my work-life efficiently. I look forward to some more of Gab's coaching.

I only came to know Gabby in the last 12 months. I was looking for a facilitator for our leadership engagement, and I found this interesting concept “What’s Your Edge”. After a few discussion with her, I knew she would be the one. Gabby has played a critical role in our organisation with the development and engagement of our ANZ leadership team. We have a more engaged leadership team today hence delivery good results. She clearly understands the requirements and delivers beyond the expectation. She works very well with all levels of management and has even customised a few sales and people manager training for us. She is very passionate, diligent, flexible, structured and focused on delivering results. I will recommend any employer to engage Gabby and the “What’s Your Edge” concept as it has hugely benefited my organisation and me personally as well.

If you are a professional who would like to improve your presentations skills to the highest level, I really recommend you Gabriella Horak's program, after completing the training you will feel very confident and fully enriched with skills for your professional development; now I have a much better knowledge of presentation tips and strategies to help and develop my presentation skills and learn how to present my projects and ideas with conviction. I have been very lucky having the opportunity of completing this training.

Training sucks. In my experience, it consists of a whole day off the tools to learn 2 or 3 good points that you promptly forget as soon as you go back to the real world. I have to say this lady has changed my view. We are now 7 weeks in from our initial training session on new teams, trust and collaboration and I can quantify the results through our business in revenue, energy and changed behaviour. If you haven't already engaged Gabriella Horak, it is worth a conversation. She genuinely cuts through soft outcomes and delivers a result that directly correlates to the bottom line. I would have to describe her as the trainer that makes stuff stick. She has had ongoing weekly dialogue with every person individually in the team and I have not seen another trainer in Australia do that. This photo is of her at an industry lunch that I hosted - not paid to be there - just keen to be immersed in our business. Big fan. Thanks again Gabi - wrapped to have you part of the KA team.

Gabby is an engaging, personable and passionate trainer. She draws from many different sources and manages to distil the potential overload of information into ideas and techniques that anyone can understand and apply. I really liked the way Gabby used a mix of theory and practical exercises, and that her focus always remained with the individuals in the audience. I have adopted several techniques from the one-day training, and am looking forward to my next training with her.

Gabriella recently came to our office and took our team through a half day 'What's your Edge' session. It was outstanding and I can't recommend her enough. As a creative agency, we focus so often on upskilling within our industry-specific software and it was great to get some perspective and learning outside of that sphere. We'll definitely be engaging Gabby again to really make sure PowerfulPoints is a preferred place of work.

I had the absolute pleasure of attending a session Gabriella facilitated for our team. Her infectious enthusiasm, joy for what she teaches, and insightful perspective left us all pumped, positive and grateful for what we know is possible. The learnings we came away with were practical and achievable and we’ve been able to adopt them to both our work and personal lives. I would gladly recommend Gabriella to any company looking to develop their teams to have The Edge.

  • Gabriella was a brilliant and passionate keynote speaker which we were privileged to have present at out latest function. At our event, we had a range of attendees from large corporate, industry leaders and small business owners and Gab had the whole room engaged, presenting in a language which was relatable to each person – regardless of size or scale of their business. She is bubbly and energetic and makes a challenging topic of leadership and team dynamics, fun and inspiring. We would be thrilled to have Gab back for a future speaking engagement and can’t recommend her highly enough on the topics of driving success cultures in teams.

I have not shared success but have been more conscious of providing positive feedback. We have recently had changes in the business with the sales team, I have assisted the Sales Manager in working through the issues together. Communication has been going well, since the conference we have managed to build on some broken relationships.

I feel that I have been handling my edge moments a little better than I would have been prior to the conference, the realisation that we all have these moments and that at the end of the day by changing my behaviour and subtleties in how I react to these edge moments I can have a bigger impact on the business.
I have been making an effort to spend the same amount of time with all my employees, which can be difficult but I think it is having a positive effect, I have also been getting in a couple of mornings each week to spend time with the night shift.  I think this potentially has the biggest impact as it helps to bring them into the team a bit more.

Thanks, Gabby. We have an opportunity to do something sustainable and amazing with our people and culture. I'm a believer looking to be an active advocate for culture change in our business.

  • I loved the Think One Team philosophy. As I have come back into “normal life” so to speak, I have found that the approach is not really a departure from my everyday attitude, I take a sense of pride from that and even more so I have developed a feeling of responsibility towards the culture shift that we are determined to establish at our company.

Recently we had our regional roll-out of the “One Team” and also spoke about the details and goals of what we are trying to do in 2019. During and after the roll-out it became obvious to me that we had lead with our agenda and not with our real message of One Team. We had informed the wider team of sales goals, operational improvements and safety targets without really engaging them in the how or the why – the rest of the team through no real fault of their own had become spectators to a management agenda.

This is in no way at all a blame or a negative feedback, we are ALL developing and learning One Team at the same time as we are rolling it out to our great people.

    Culture change is hard!

Gabby, I guess what I am asking is how can I use my enthusiasm and positive energy to impact people that don’t necessarily WANT to be impacted? People I have had no direct involvement with? How can I maximise the One Team approach without implying a hidden agenda?

Hopefully, this doesn’t come across as a rant, but I hope this is received as a “One Team” believer looking to be an active advocate for culture change in our business.

    Thanks Gabby.

I have managed to connect with a team member each week which has been great for helping build trust with my colleagues, I have struggled to begin conversations asking my team what they are grateful for but I have personally made notes of what I’m grateful for each day. Thanks for the reminder

Been a bit office-bound since last week due to a backlog of work so sharing my experience with the business has been a bit limited. However, I have been in touch with a few of the team (7 including my boss), whether via email or phone to discuss ongoing & new issues and also to get the Footy Tipping team up and running.
Prioritising my workload is going well, as long as the phone doesn’t ring or emails don’t land.  I still find it hard to refuse to help people when what they require is only a 5-minute job, although I understand all those 5 minutes mount up!

Listen to understand: Pretty easy, I just have to keep quiet and not interrupt. In application, it’s a work in progress… I’ll get there. Lasting positive impact: Having been here almost 10yrs and been a pivotal part of the tech department over the years to bring it from nothing to what it is today, I have nothing to worry about coming short if that ever become a metric or kpi. I put it forward at the workshop so everyone else could think of their actions in the long run. We did another session this morning. It was interesting, I think we’re capturing the essence of our workshop just fine. I’m just interested to see the final product and how it will be rolled out/activated/permanently enforced.

I have been working closely with team members in terms of communicating, understanding others and contributing to the overall success of the team - listening more intently, showing empathy and understanding others. I do feel these have been my core value for some time now, however, always room for improvement.  Admittedly I have been focusing on closer team members and probably need to broaden to the wider team. Have put some work into gratitude and staying positive (Simon Sinek TED talks are very good), but could improve on this front as well.

  • Thank you for the email. Last weeks session was really great to be a part of, and a great step in the right direction for Supercars. I’ve shared our new values and the experience with the group with my immediate team. There’s a positive vibe about what’s to come and looking forward to the next steps. With the start of the season starting this week, there are a lot of conversations happening, so I’m making a conscious effort to do what I can to listen and understand concerns, action items, and things I can change. Thanks again for last week!

I printed off my list of goals and stuck it on my wall in my office and look at them every day. My business goals are a part of my every day now and it is really working. I am growing the number of contacts within my larger customers and I am seeing increased sales, enquires & quotes. My personal goals are also on track with the purchase of an investment property a month ago.
So I’m currently on annual leave in Fiji. The kids are in kids club and my wife (Lizzy) and I are currently relaxing in the adults only pool with a few cocktails and some inspirational reading (The Slight Edge!).

Interested in learning the link between the pose you strike (I’m a superwoman guy apparently…) and changes in testosterone levels three minutes later, or positive visualisation and dopamine release and opening neural pathways? @Gabriella Horak from What's Your Edge? , is the lady to ask.
We have used @Gabriella Horak for different training engagements lately and I find her linkages between traditional personal development topics and the latest academic research really lifts the subject matter to a higher level, engaging both qualitative and analytical “types” in the room equally – not easily done. Thanks, @Amadeus IT Group for organising, and Gabriella for the prep work!
