The Current Challenge
Organisational success occurs when individual contributors come together and are actively aligned and committed. The challenge for organisations is that often their teams are not aligned to a higher organisational purpose and direction and this results in teams competing with each other while trying to achieve the same end goal. It is also replicated within teams.Without clear direction and alignment, many team members try to achieve results without leveraging off the knowledge, skills and experience of their teammates. They do not get the chance to share their successes and challenges and hold themselves and each other accountable for performance outcomes. The end results in a team with great intentions but performance that does not fulfil their combined potential.
